Thu Adult Art Explore Projects (Drop in Class) 12:00 – 15:00
This is a single 3 hour long drop in class for the Adult Art Explore Projects course running in the Spring Term 2020.
This course is for adult learners at all levels of art practice. It is suitable for beginners as well as those with experience in 2D fine art disciplines, clay work and textiles, and for professional artists wanting access to specialist equipment or simply looking for a supportive community for their practice.
Times and Duration
The Adult Art Explore Projects course is taught every Thursday during term time, for a duration of 10 to 13 weeks, depending on the length of the school term. The schedule can be found on our term timetable (please see Term Time & Holidays link above). Each class is 3 hours long, running from 12 noon till 3pm, with a 20 minute break for lunch.
The Adult Art Explore Projects course can be attended on a drop in basis, so you are welcome to join us as suits your schedule.
What we do
The Adult Art Explore Projects course offers instruction in a wide range of approaches and skills exploring various tools, techniques and materials. Some of the techniques covered include printmaking (screen printing, lino printing and etching), using the etching press, the laser cutter, the heat press for textiles, and also clay, with access to the kilns. We learn traditional fine art skills including painting and drawing from observation. Painting media include watercolour, acrylics and oils.
The Adult Art Explore Projects course is intended as a space of artistic freedom which encourages creativity, self-expression and confidence in one’s own artistic capabilities. For a full description of the course please visit our Adult Art Explore Projects page.
Included in the price
The price of each class includes use of all basic tools and materials needed for the course content. Lunch is also provided, which is a home cooked vegetarian hotpot.
£10 of the price of this class is donated to the West London Action for Children charity.
Not included in the price
If you would like to pursue specialist oil painting, we suggest that you source your own canvas and paints.
