Classes at Kite Studios focus on teaching our students the skill of creating treasure from materials we tend to discard. By introducing students to a variety of techniques ranging from etching to sculptural construction to drawing from life we teach students to see the treasure in everything around them.
Drawing is the central starting point for all classes at Kite. We work to enhance children’s ability to draw from observation and their imagination. By introducing the work of famous artists in each class and new techniques like painting and printmaking, we help them develop a drawing and create a finished piece.
Our key aim is for students to feel empowered by their ability to experiment freely with materials, solve problems and reflect on the work they make. Each class has a different theme so students are welcome to attend on multiple days. Children get a chance to explore their imagination and while being introduced to Fine Artists and their techniques.
Our morning art class 10am-12pm will be open to children aged 4-8, Our afternoon art class 1pm-3pm will be open to children aged 8+. The clay camp will be accepting children aged 8+ from 10am-12pm and in the afternoon clay camp 1pm-3pm accepting children aged 4-8. This way we hope to get children of similar ages in the same classes!
We focus on different techniques on different days – but always with a new theme!
If your class has to be cancelled, we will keep you updated with different options for joining a workshop on an alternative date in the Summer Holidays or a refund.
Please note that all Kite bookings are non-refundable unless cancelled by us (see our terms and conditions). If you need to self isolate due to COVID-19, please stay safe and do not visit Kite Studios. Unfortunately we are unable to offer refunds but you can transfer your place to another child.
