Auriol, founder and Director of Kite Studios leads this lively and friendly weekly class for adults in our main art studio.
Each session is self contained so you can join at any stage of the term and don’t worry if you can’t come every week!
This course is for adult learners at all levels of art practice including complete beginners, artists who have not practised for a while and artists who want to collaborate and work alongside others.
It is a course fuelled by curiosity and a desire to discover new techniques, materials and processes. We use fine art materials and a wide range of tools and equipment in our studio including our etching presses. We draw inspiration from the old masters, contemporary artists, collectives, the natural world and each other.
We welcome complete beginners without any formal art training, as well as those with experience who are looking to develop their practice, or are returning to art after a long break and are looking to experiment.
We offer a friendly, informal and supportive environment. We support artistic freedom, self-expression and confidence building in a non-judgemental creative space.
We focus on exploring the artistic process and experimentation.
Each project in the class has clear parameters so that everyone is able to leave each week with a sense of both accomplishment and progress.
We use a wide range of materials and often get messy 🙂 So please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting splattered in paint or ink….or bring an apron!
We are delighted to be back in the studios. We have COVID precautions in place in line with Government Guidance. If you are more comfortable joining via Zoom, this is also possible – please just let us know when you book (in the comments field please). In the event that stricter COVID restrictions are reintroduced, we can move the whole class onto Zoom so that we can continue the course.
