This is a tutored class, where students can develop their work over the course of the term, based on a specific theme and process. Suitable for all levels.
Whether you are a complete beginner, wish to supplement your existing skill set, or are an experienced artist looking to find a new working environment and friendly community in which to pursue your creativity and passion, you will be received with a warm welcome.
The Printmaking with Etching Press class introduces adult students to the imaginative and unique world of printmaking. It is led by seasoned printmaker Sally Grumbridge who takes students through everything that there is to know about printmaking and – more importantly – gets students involved in making their own original prints as well as editioning, mounting and even exhibiting if they wish.
As well as learning all about the etching press and the different printmaking capabilities that it offers, there is the opportunity to discover some of the many printmaking techniques – from intaglio processes such as dry point and collagraph to relief printing with Lino or woodcut and all the bits and pieces in between. Each term we look at a different process and take a different creative theme for inspiration. Every student receives individual tuition and is encouraged to work to their own aesthetic and ability. The course is a fun and exciting look into the world of printmaking led by an experienced artist and teacher. You are sure to walk away with an abundance of knowledge and skills that you can use both in printmaking and in other creative pursuits.
This specialist course boasts a small class size, offering you ample attention from the tutor and space in which to work safely and socially distanced.
