This workshop is a chance for children to enjoy the process of working with clay. We include throwing on the wheel and hand-building projects, which result in collaborative pieces that we recycle afterwards. Children can choose to take one piece they’ve made home to dry. We recommend decorating it with paint and/or sealing it with PVA to contain the dust, or simply covering it with water so the clay can be reused.
Because clay dust is hazardous, please don’t leave the piece in a “bone dry” state. Seal it with one or both of the methods above.
We don’t offer firing as a service for our holiday workshops. If your child is very keen to see the clay journey through to the end, we recommend our After School Pottery Club, which runs on Wednesdays from 4-6pm, starting in January.
[PLEASE NOTE: Children can take one ‘wet clay’ pieces home on the day. No firing is included, and unclaimed pieces will be recycled]
We need 4 attendees for a class to go ahead at the present time.
If your class has to be cancelled, we will be in touch with different options for joining a workshop on an
alternative date in the half term or a refund.
